Made from a hard wearing material called polyurethane, the PU plate series is the most resilient on the market, and the first of its kind made in India. Polyurethane won’t fade or change colour over time, meaning it keeps looking fresh and eye-catching in your gym far longer than any other plates. In addition, UNRACK PU bumper plates are thinner than traditional rubber bumper plates; meaning less storage space required AND more potential weight on the barbell! These plates have a CHROME-FREE centre steel that is rust resistant for years to come.

Plate thickness

  • UNRACK plates are designed and tested to be dropped on a minimum of 30mm thick rubber flooring or standard drop pads. If the flooring is thinner than this it may result in damage to the plates.
  • All PU weight plates in the size of 10kg-25kg can be dropped from a height, however, if consistently dropping for olympic lifts, we suggest our competition style weightlifting bumpers.
  • 5kg plates (PU range as well as the SBR range) are not designed to be dropped on the floor. 
  • Where possible, load your bars with the fewest plates (and therefore heaviest plates) possible. For example, when lifting 70kg on a men's 20kg bar use the red 25kg plates. This will reduce the wear on the lighter plates and keep your kit in top condition for longer.
